By accessing or using any Applied Relevance web property ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these terms. If you disagree, please close this tab — we will not be offended.
You may create an account using email/password or Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. We are responsible for not losing your data. These responsibilities are non-transferable.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. Impersonating historical figures is acceptable only when submitting impact assessments about them.
You agree not to:
You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Applied Relevance a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and use that content as part of the Service. This license exists so we can show your assessments to other users — not so we can print them on coffee mugs.
Some content on the platform is generated or assisted by AI. AI-generated content is labeled as such. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or historical fairness of any content, whether human-generated or AI-assisted. History is complicated.
The Service, its design, code, and branding are owned by Applied Relevance. The ATIS methodology, scoring framework, and associated algorithms are our original work. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from these without permission.
We aim to keep the Service available 24/7 but do not guarantee uptime. We may perform maintenance, deploy updates, or occasionally break things and fix them. This is software — it happens.
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice when practical. Upon termination, your submitted content may be retained in anonymized form.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Applied Relevance shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us, which — given our services are currently free — is a very specific number.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Virginia, or ideally over a reasonable conversation before it gets to that.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
